TONSIL AND ADENOID SURGERY

Tonsils and adenoids are small lumps of tissue located at the back of the nose and throat. The operation on the tonsils to remove them is called a tonsillectomy, and the operation on the adenoids to remove them is called an adenoidectomy. The two operations can be combined into one, and this surgery to remove both is known as an adenotonsillectomy.

Tonsil removal is very effective for recurring sore throats. Adenoid removal is effective against ear infections and nasal blockage that adenoids produce when they are enlarged.
