CORNET SURGERY
The turbinates are elongated and fleshy structures located inside the nostrils with a thin sheet of bone inside. Under normal circumstances they are useful to provide optimal breathing, facilitating the cleaning, heating and humidification of the air we breathe. For many and varied reasons, the turbinates take on a larger volume than normal, altering the functions they usually perform, causing discomfort to the patient. These symptoms are varied and of greater or lesser intensity, the main ones being difficulty breathing through the nose, the existence of pain in the face and head, the sensation of nasal dryness or the persistent presence of more or less thick nasal mucus . Difficulty breathing through the nose forces the patient to breathe through the mouth, especially at night or when asleep, which leads to other symptoms such as dry mouth, snoring, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome , pharyngitis, thickening of throat secretions and favors the suffering of headaches and sinusitis.
