FOREIGN BODIES EXTRACTION
IN EARS, NOSE AND LARYNX
Sometimes children can have foreign bodies in their ears, nose, and respiratory tract. A foreign body is any object that gets into the ear, nose or mouth and should not be there, as it could be harmful to the child if it does not receive immediate medical attention.
Foreign bodies can lodge in the ear or in the ear canal. Generally, earrings are found in the ear, either stuck in the lobe due to infection or too deep due to incorrect placement. Foreign bodies in the ear canal can be anything that children can put into their ears.
Children often put soft objects up their noses. The list includes, but is not limited to, tissue paper, clay, toy parts or erasers.
