How the test is performed

The exam takes 1 to 5 minutes. The healthcare provider:

• He will spray your nose with medicine to reduce swelling and numb the area.

• You will insert the nasal endoscope into your nose. It is a long rigid or flexible tube with a camera on the end to look inside the nose and sinuses. Images can be projected on a screen.

• Examine the inside of your nose and sinuses.

• It will remove polyps, mucus, or other masses from your nose or sinuses.
